Semiconductors are the materials possessing very low electrical Conductivity.
These are neither conductor, nor insulator.
Conductivity of a semiconductor increases considerably when a certain amount of mpurities are added to them. For e.g. silicon and germanium.

These are used to fabricate solar cells. Some applications of semiconductors are as follows:
Computer chips, both for CPU and memory
Communication devices
Electrical and electronic gadgets Converting electric supply from A.C. to D.C.
Amplify signals Audio and video systems, etc.are composed of semiconductor materials
Transistors
Integrated circuit chips
P-n junction diode/triode

Ans।  अर्धचालक बहुत कम विद्युत चालकता रखने वाली सामग्री हैं।  ये न तो कंडक्टर हैं, न ही इन्सुलेटर हैं।  अर्धचालक की चालकता काफी हद तक बढ़ जाती है जब एक निश्चित मात्रा में मॉइस्चर को उनके साथ जोड़ा जाता है।
सिलिकॉन और जर्मेनियम। 
इनका उपयोग सौर कोशिकाओं को गढ़ने के लिए किया जाता है।  अर्धचालक के कुछ अनुप्रयोग निम्नानुसार हैं: कंप्यूटर चिप्स, दोनों सीपीयू और मेमोरी कम्युनिकेशन डिवाइसेस के लिए। इलेक्ट्रिकल और इलेक्ट्रॉनिक गैजेट्स एसी से डीसी में इलेक्ट्रिक सप्लाई देते हैं सिग्नल और ऑडियो सिस्टम को एम्प्लीफाय करते हैं। सेमीकंडक्टर मटीरियल से बने ट्रांजिस्टर इंटीग्रेटेड सर्किट सर्किट पीएन जंक्शन डायोड।  / ट्रायोड
